Apostle Island Photo Workshop

The Beauty of the Apostles is renowned! This photo workshop combines the art of photography with four days of sea kayaking. We will take the watertaxi and base camp on Stockton Island where the serene beaches, sailboats, forest trails and bogs, majestic white pines all provide exceptional subject matter. Taking the watertaxi makes it easy to keep your photo gear in good condition with a few simple precautions we'll talk about Thursday night.

We got to know Layne Kennedy when he was on assignment to capture images of the Apostle Islands for several magazines. His newest book, Jewels on The Water - Lake Superior's Apostle Islands beautifully documents life in the Apostles. His images are regularly featured in: Smithsonian , LIFE , Outside , National Geographic Traveler and Adventurer and too many other publications to mention.

Beyond being a great photographer, he is an excellent teacher who is willing to share his knowledge and secrets. He will teach you how to tell stories with your photographs. His students range from magazine professionals to point-and-shoot neophytes. Trip includes: 2 nights lodging at the Trek & Trail Cabins, 4 days of kayaking, slide-show critique, all kayaking and camping gear (including drybags), food while on the water, guides, kayak and photo instruction. Participants will have to pay for water taxi to Stockton Island - approximately $55.
